Meet at Magnolia Garden to depart at 7:30 am.

Explore the three ecosystems that encompass Amelia Island.  Explore the dunes ecosystem learning about tidal influence, resident animal species, and dune dynamics.  Transition into the maritime forest where you can experience the wonder of the native plant species, live oak tree canopy, and its inhabitants.  Surround yourself in the tidal salt marsh highlighting its three main functions of filtration, as a nursery and a flood zone.  Return to the main resort property while you recap the importance of ecosystems that make up this barrier island.

Be sure to bring comfortable shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, rain jacket (per weather forecast) and water.
